1920s Bohemian turtle brooch, marked Czecho, Gablonz style blue glass, blue rhinestone crystals, brass body, ruby rhinestone eyes.

These pieces are highly collectible. It comes from a time after WWI when Bohemia became Czecho Slovakia.

It measures 2 1/4" (5.7 cm) X 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) and is in very good condition for it's age. There are a few slight scratches to the cabochon, which is a bit wavy. One of the eyes is duller than the other.

There is some glue residue on the back where a later safety clasp had been adhered to the piece. The original is a simple c clasp. With a small enough chain this could be used as a pendant also, via the turtle's mouth.

Even the back is elaborate! It is signed Czecho.
